Under the surface

A driveway fails from the ground up, so that is where the money goes. Every job is built as three layers, each one checked before the next goes down.

Layer 01 · Wearing course

25 to 30mm of AC10 hot mix, delivered at 160 degrees and rolled while it is hot. This is the black you see and drive on.

Layer 02 · Roadbase

100mm of crushed rock, laid wet and compacted in passes until it will not move. This layer carries your cars for the next twenty years.

Layer 03 · Subgrade

The ground itself, cut to depth, proof rolled and shaped so water falls away from the house instead of pooling under the asphalt.
